On the 30th of April the Westridge High School hockey teams travelled to TUKS Pretoria South Africa for their 2017 annual hockey tour. The group consisted of 16 girls and 10 boys, coach Mr R. Munyaradzi, manager Mrs E. Magaya .The teams were coached different drills aimed at improving their playing skills by South African coaches. They also had an opportunity to use their newly acquired skills in games which they played against other participating schools.

All participating coaches and managers were involved in training sessions of their own. They attended lectures on modern trends of hockey which were very interesting and showed that the game of hockey is also evolving with new ways of defending and actually playing the game.

The coaching clinic culminated in an awards giving ceremony where one of the Westridge players Jason Minnar (below) recieved an award for most improved player.
